column_border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comme le fait remarquer le GIEC dans son dernier rapport sur les bases scientifiques physiques du changement climatique, il est \u00ab sans \u00e9quivoque que l\u2019influence humaine a r\u00e9chauff\u00e9 l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re, l\u2019oc\u00e9an et les terres \u00bb, alors que d\u2019autres changements g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9s et rapides se sont \u00e9galement produits. Les scientifiques peuvent, avec plus ou moins de certitude, \u00e9tablir des liens entre l\u2019activit\u00e9 humaine et les changements qui affectent les pr\u00e9cipitations, la circulation atmosph\u00e9rique mondiale et la salinit\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de la surface des oc\u00e9ans, sans compter le recul des glaciers \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale depuis les ann\u00e9es 1990, la fonte de la surface de la calotte glaciaire du Groenland et la diminution de la couverture de glace de mer de l\u2019oc\u00e9an Arctique, en particulier l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans les oc\u00e9ans, les \u00e9missions de CO2 d\u2019origine humaine ont favoris\u00e9 le r\u00e9chauffement et l\u2019acidification croissante des eaux de surface, mais aussi l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9vation moyenne du niveau de la mer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale. Les activit\u00e9s humaines pourraient \u00e9galement avoir contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la chute des niveaux d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne des couches sup\u00e9rieures de diff\u00e9rentes parties des oc\u00e9ans depuis 1950. De plus, d\u2019apr\u00e8s le GIEC, les modifications observ\u00e9es dans la biosph\u00e8re des terres \u00e9merg\u00e9es depuis 1970 sont coh\u00e9rentes avec le changement climatique. En effet, les zones climatiques, aux conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques observables sur le long terme, se d\u00e9placent vers les p\u00f4les dans les deux h\u00e9misph\u00e8res. Depuis les ann\u00e9es 1950, la saison de croissance de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation s\u2019est allong\u00e9e en moyenne de deux jours par d\u00e9cennie dans l\u2019h\u00e9misph\u00e8re nord.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tous ces changements sont observ\u00e9s et signal\u00e9s par les scientifiques du monde entier. [attribution science]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ils utilisent ensuite la science de l\u2019attribution pour examiner les liens entre un \u00e9v\u00e9nement sp\u00e9cifique et l\u2019ensemble du mod\u00e8le de l\u2019influence humaine sur le climat. Apr\u00e8s avoir analys\u00e9 cette litt\u00e9rature, le GIEC peint un tableau complet du changement climatique, o\u00f9 l\u2019augmentation des temp\u00e9ratures n\u2019est pas le seul facteur.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tous ces changements de grande \u00e9chelle qui affectent les param\u00e8tres physiques de base de l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re, de l\u2019oc\u00e9an et des terres \u00e9merg\u00e9es, d\u2019une fa\u00e7on diff\u00e9rente d\u2019une r\u00e9gion \u00e0 l\u2019autre, provoquent des effets en cascade. Les conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes \u00e9voluent l\u00e9g\u00e8rement, ce qui potentiellement menace les \u00eatres humains et les autres \u00eatres vivants. Les conditions, notamment g\u00e9ographiques et socio\u00e9conomiques, des communaut\u00e9s expliquent leur degr\u00e9 d\u2019exposition et de vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 ces dangers et leurs r\u00e9percussions n\u00e9gatives. L\u2019association des dangers, de l\u2019exposition et de la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 produit le concept de risque climatique. Le GIEC l\u2019utilise dans son rapport sur les cons\u00e9quences et l\u2019adaptation comme cadre pour comprendre les \u00ab cons\u00e9quences de plus en plus graves, interconnect\u00e9es et souvent irr\u00e9versibles du changement climatique sur les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes, la biodiversit\u00e9 et les syst\u00e8mes humains \u00bb.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bien que le Groupe de travail I du GIEC d\u00e9crive les bases scientifiques physiques du changement climatique en termes de moyennes mondiales, en pratique, personne sur Terre ne les ressent directement : toutes les cons\u00e9quences du changement climatique sont locales et r\u00e9gionales. C\u2019est pourquoi le rapport du Groupe de travail II sur les cons\u00e9quences et l\u2019adaptation pr\u00e9sente une \u00e9valuation d\u00e9taill\u00e9e de l\u2019Afrique, l\u2019Asie, l\u2019Australasie, l\u2019Am\u00e9rique centrale et du Sud, l\u2019Europe et l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord, et de petites \u00eeles du monde entier. Y figurent aussi plusieurs articles transversaux sur les r\u00e9gions dont l\u2019adaptation est particuli\u00e8rement importante pour des raisons qui leur sont propres : par exemple, les r\u00e9gions montagneuses et polaires, les d\u00e9serts, les villes c\u00f4ti\u00e8res ou les for\u00eats tropicales et \u00ab points chauds \u00bb de biodiversit\u00e9.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le rapport du Groupe de travail I comprend un<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/interactive-atlas.ipcc.ch\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">outil interactif<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> qui reprend les observations et projections relatives au changement climatique dans le temps et l\u2019espace. Le rapport du Groupe de travail II propose \u00e9galement une <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/report\/ar6\/wg2\/downloads\/report\/IPCC_AR6_WGII_Annex-I.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">analyse d\u00e9taill\u00e9e<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de l\u2019histoire des cons\u00e9quences climatiques et de l\u2019adaptation, relat\u00e9e par ses r\u00e9sum\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019intention des d\u00e9cideurs. Ces r\u00e9gions les plus froides du monde sont tout particuli\u00e8rement vuln\u00e9rables au changement climatique et ses cons\u00e9quences. La cryosph\u00e8re constitue donc un indicateur plut\u00f4t sensible de ces processus. Voil\u00e0 pourquoi le GIEC a publi\u00e9 son rapport sp\u00e9cial L\u2019oc\u00e9an et la cryosph\u00e8re dans le contexte du changement climatique (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/srocc\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SROCC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) en 2019.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La cons\u00e9quence la plus visible du changement climatique sur la cryosph\u00e8re est son recul rapide. Ces derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, le r\u00e9chauffement plan\u00e9taire a entra\u00een\u00e9 une perte de masse pour les calottes glaciaires et glaciers. L\u2019Arctique a quant \u00e0 lui perdu de la banquise : elle devient plus fine et plus \u00ab jeune \u00bb, car les couches de glace les plus anciennes fondent. De plus, les temp\u00e9ratures du perg\u00e9lisol augmentent progressivement. Au niveau local, le d\u00e9gel qui en r\u00e9sulte endommage des infrastructures et expose les populations \u00e0 des maladies dangereuses comme la maladie du charbon. Le recul des glaciers s\u2019accompagne \u00e9galement de cons\u00e9quences pour les \u00eatres humains, car nombre de communaut\u00e9s des r\u00e9gions montagneuses en d\u00e9pendent pour s\u2019approvisionner en eau potable. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le r\u00e9chauffement de la cryosph\u00e8re peut \u00e0 son tour avoir des cons\u00e9quences sur le syst\u00e8me climatique, par effet de r\u00e9troaction. La neige et la glace poss\u00e8dent un alb\u00e9do (capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9flexion) plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 que le sol nu. Le manteau neigeux, quant \u00e0 lui, isole le sol, et donc pr\u00e9vient son r\u00e9chauffement. Aussi, au fur et \u00e0 mesure de la disparition de la neige et de la glace, et de l\u2019assombrissement des surfaces, le r\u00e9chauffement s\u2019accentue. Plus important encore, le perg\u00e9lisol renferme davantage de dioxyde de carbone que l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re actuellement. Avec l\u2019augmentation des temp\u00e9ratures et la fonte des sols gel\u00e9s, il pourrait se transformer en source majeure de m\u00e9thane et de dioxyde de carbone. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;in_container&#8221; Certaines cons\u00e9quences, comme les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames, peuvent endommager des infrastructures vitales, des logements et les services de base, accentuant par le fait la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 des populations urbaines \u00e0 ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les \u00eelots de chaleur urbains constituent un exemple embl\u00e9matique des interactions entre changement climatique et d\u00e9veloppement urbain. Les grandes villes, caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une v\u00e9g\u00e9tation rare, une densit\u00e9 de population \u00e9lev\u00e9e et la pr\u00e9sence de b\u00e9ton et d\u2019asphalte dans les b\u00e2timents et routes, pr\u00e9sentent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des temp\u00e9ratures de l\u2019air plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es que les zones environnantes. Ainsi, les vagues de chaleur, dont la fr\u00e9quence et l\u2019intensit\u00e9 s\u2019accentuent avec le changement climatique, sont bien plus difficiles \u00e0 supporter et survivre dans les environnements urbains. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or, de nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s s\u2019offrent aux villes pour r\u00e9soudre ces probl\u00e8mes.
